What is life coaching?

A life coach is a professional who helps people to set goals, overcome roadblocks, and reach success. By identifying what matters most to someone, a life coach is able to create a plan of action that will lead to greater life fulfillment. They should be able to provide practical, actionable advice, as well as give their clients the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential.

There are many areas a life coach can address, such as career, romance, health and wellness, productivity, organization, and so on. A coach may have resources specific to each area, or choose to focus on some areas over others.

When is a good time to reach out to a life coach?

Essentially, any time you find yourself unsatisfied with your life. Maybe you've been stuck in a situation that just doesn't fit you. Maybe you have a dream that you haven't been able to reach. Or maybe you struggle with the willpower required to maintain consistent progress, and could use the extra accountability. A life coach can be the push you need to get you on your way.

What does a session with a life coach look like?

Generally, it starts with a conversation to make sure the client and the coach are on the same page. This might include the client's goals, what progress they have made so far, and what has stopped them from going even further. From there, the client and the coach will form a plan on what they want to work on in the following sessions.

Each week, the coach may start with a review of the goals that were set and help troubleshoot any issues that came up. They will have exercises, tools, and advice to further develop the client's skills. This collaborative process combines the client's vision with the coach's expertise, allowing the client to transform themselves and their life.
